HOME BOOK DELIVERY POLICY
Sutton Free Library outlines the procedures listed below to provide safe and efficient book deliveries.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE

-
Two bags with Library Markings will be used for each homebound resident enrolled in the program. One bag of library material will remain with the resident, and the other bag will be used by the Library to provide updated material on a pre-arranged delivery day.

-
A library representative will hang the new bag of requested books on the resident’s door knob. Residents should have their return bag hanging on their door knob, ready for pickup.

-
Employees/volunteers will not enter the resident’s house in order to make the book exchange.

-
The book delivery drivers will adhere to a predetermined delivery schedule, with Library personnel aware of the residents’ names and addresses to which deliveries are being made.

-
The Library will inform the Sutton Police Department of the program and its general procedures.

-
Book deliveries should occur during daylight hours.
HOME BOOK DELIVERY DRIVERS

-
Deliveries may be made by either Library employees or volunteers 25 years of age or older.
-
No children under the age of 18 will be allowed in the cars during book deliveries. (Town of Sutton insurance policy requirement).
-
Delivery volunteers are encouraged to bring their charged cell phones to use in the case of emergencies.
-
Volunteers will not be reimbursed for mileage or other driving expenses.
DRIVER ELIGIBILITY

Delivery drivers must provide the Library with the following documentation:
